In short: A swift and stylish turbocharged luxury sedan.

2013 Cadillac ATS 2.0T Premium Collection Review

This luxury compact sports sedan combines high-performance engineering with smart interior features and an eco-friendly outlook in a stylish package that is perfect for both joyrides and city driving. Our black diamond tricoat tester with Morello red leather interior and carbon fiber trim rocketed every time we pushed the accelerator. No sunroof, however, which is a must in this price category of automobile. The Cadillac ATS 2.0T Premium Collection with a 6-speed manual transmission is a sweet ride. Noise level at high revolutions is contained, but we only achieved a measly 16.6 mpg combined. For the most part comfort is good, but nothing close to the Cadillacs of yesteryear, which is a voluntary departure for the brand’s team.

There are three engine variants — the 2.0-liter turbo our tester came with, a 2.5-liter with 202 hp, or a V6 with 321 hp and all-wheel drive. We liked the clean dash set up with no dials and the signature GM head-up display. We made friends with the Cadillac User Experience (CUE) system, as well, which features a 5.7-inch touch-screen display with navigation. Pluses such as dual-zone climate control, LED interior and door handle accents, front and rear parking assist, and keyless operation, amongst other things, make this little Cadillac-that-can a sweetheart. Furthermore, an optional driver awareness package, rain-sensing wipers, hill hold and start assist are on hand for extra assistance. But are you ready to part with your BMW?
