It’s a luxury sports sedan with a fastback tail, it’s a gorgeous car, it’s the Audi S7 quattro and here is why we like it.
The Audi 7 lineup with the A7, S7 and RS 7 constitute an amazing offering. You are in supermodel territory here. No matter how much power you get from one of the three motors, the Audi 7 is a luxury sports car. To boot, it delivers a lot of utility. It is an uber sedan that doubles up as a station wagon, or hatchback if you prefer. Very few cars are exactly like it. Think Tesla Model S, but that’s electric, or the boxy BMW 5 series GT. It’s a long car so you may not want to drive it as a sports car at first, but trust us, it is very able. Our options-laden glacier-white metallic tester with Valcona leather seats and black wood with aluminum inlays made a few people envious during our drive; we were sad to see it go, as well. In the driver’s assistance package, we appreciated the Audi Pre Sense Plus with its audible tone as we might have been approaching slowing traffic too quickly. Perhaps such an option will be mandatory some day. Driving the car is a pleasure and, as a matter of fact, it feels much lighter than it actually is: sort of a smooth glide. Inside, you’ll find just about all you need and expect. Four climatic zones will keep each passenger at his or her desired temperature.
Flip up the rear winglet and play the role of a GT racer or cruise to your local Costco warehouse and load up all your necessary goods, folding any of the back seats for added cargo. The Audi S7 quattro is as versatile as it gets and the gas mileage is decent too for a massive V8 engine. We achieved 15.6 MPG in our combined enlightened driving.
