Still the quintessential minivan

In short: A cavernous, well-appointed minivan

2014 Chrysler Town & Country Review

The vehicle that started the minivan genre, the Chrysler Town & Country remains in 2014 its most representative example.

Featuring the smooth Chrysler Pentastar V6, three row seating, and a quiet, comfortable cabin, the Town & Country is a solid choice for large families looking for a people mover. Though not the most fuel-efficient or stylish option, the Chrysler minivan holds true to the values of what makes a minivan, its front-wheel-drive layout giving it great space efficiency from a relatively compact footprint.
The Town & Country is, however, still a large vehicle, and its drivers won’t be mistaking it for a hot-hatch, as it also adheres to the traditional minivan vices of lackluster handling and susceptibility to crosswinds on the highway. Ride quality, not a strong suit of most minivans, has improved with the Town & Country, which handles bumps nicely.

That said, the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country is hard to beat for transporting seven people in relative comfort. Thanks to the nifty Stow-N-Go seats, it also makes for a versatile cargo hauler. The Town & Country provides up to 143.8 cubic feet of cargo volume, enough to easily move a college dorm-room full of stuff. It also comes with plenty of features standard, including a DVD rear seat entertainment system, leather upholstery, auto-dimming mirrors and automatic climate control. Front seats are comfortable, and there are lots of storage compartments. Our Maximum Steel Clear Coat test car was the 30th anniversary edition, and came with Chrysler’s UConnect infotainment system.

The Town & Country may not be the most refined or efficient of minivans, but it remains one of the most versatile and practical choices on the market.
