In short: A sharp-looking sedan with first-class features.

2014 Kia Forte EX Review

For the 2014 model year, Kia gives its Forte even more forza — force with dynamic looks and more horsepower. Although the base model starts at $19,400, a more handsomely-equipped Kia Forte sedan reaches past $25,000. Our Abyss Blue EX trim-level tester achieved only 20 mpg combined; furthermore, we were shopping for power constantly and coming across desperate gaps. The little sedan is easy to drive in a city setting and offers a decent amount of cabin space and trunk space. Cute move on the cooled glove box but we think heated and cooled cupholders would be more useful. Kia Motors offers a great warranty and we expect the car to be reliable enough for many miles. The Kia Forte EX comes adorned with UVO telematics technology, Bluetooth, a rear view camera, auto on/off Xenon headlights, heated seats, outside mirror puddle lights and all sorts of 21st-century creature comforts and technology that are perfect for luxe teenagers, young city dwellers, or professionals in search of a second car.

Warranty/Service: 10-year/100,000 mile limited powertrain warranty; 5-year/60,000 mile limited basic warranty; 5-year/60,000 mile roadside assistance
